Questions we hear often

Clear expectations before we talk.

What makes Aspen different from a regular bookkeeper or CPA?

Most bookkeepers record transactions. Most CPA firms show up once a year for taxes. Aspen stays in your corner year-round, keeping the books current, categorizing with the tax consequences in mind, explaining what the numbers mean, and flagging things before they cost you.

You get accounting experience and an advisor's mindset applied to the bookkeeping itself, all from one person who knows your business.

Where is Aspen Accounting based, and who do you work with?

Aspen Accounting & Advisory is based in Orem, Utah (468 S 1100 W), and works with small business owners across Orem, Utah County, and the surrounding areas. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM.

Because the work runs through the tools you already use, Aspen can also support Utah owners outside Utah County. A free discovery call is the easiest way to confirm it's a good fit.

Who will I actually be working with?

You work directly with Ryan Smith, the founder, on every engagement, never an outsourced team, a call center, or an overseas back office. The person who knows your books is the person you'll always talk to.

Ryan holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, spent several years working under a CPA, and has hands-on experience with tax returns and multi-location franchise accounting, so your books are kept with the tax consequences in mind.

Do you do payroll and personal taxes too?

Aspen focuses on what it does best: monthly bookkeeping, advisory, and reporting for small business owners. Payroll and personal taxes aren't part of the service, though Aspen keeps your books tax-ready and coordinates cleanly with your CPA or tax preparer.

My books are a mess right now. Is that a problem?

That's exactly why people come to Aspen. A messy starting point isn't a dealbreaker. We've untangled worse. We'll get the accounts cleaned up and onto solid ground, then keep them that way.

How is billing handled, and what does it cost?

Most engagements are billed monthly through a simple, transparent invoice tied to the agreed scope, with no surprise hourly bills. Pricing depends on the size of your business and which path you choose, Compliance or Advisory.

You'll get a custom quote after the discovery call. Most owners find clean books and better decisions pay for the fee quickly.
